Cleveland flower shop owner Janna Cottle, owner of Cleveland Flower Shop in Eastlake Heights, says she thinks it’s time for some changes in the city.
She says she believes that a citywide ban on sales of flower in shops is a necessary step in the right direction.
“We’ve seen it happen in other cities, like in Brooklyn, but not like this,” Cottles husband, Robert Cottler, said.
Cottles grandfather and uncle both worked in flower shops, and her father, who also works in flower, says he was happy to see the change.
“My grandfather used to say ‘We don’t sell flowers, we sell flowers,'” Cottls father, Tom Cottley, said, adding that he and his father were happy to hear the change, but also a lot of things were going to change in the meantime.
Calls to the Cleveland Flower and Garden Association were not returned by press time.
