Steve Alberts son, Marcus, will start for the Arizona State men’s basketball team for the first time in his young career after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at the school.
Albertz, who coached the Rams from 2005-07, will coach the team for its second consecutive year as a part-time assistant.
Albrettt said he believes Marcus Albert has the ability to “make a difference” for the Rams as he transitions into his second season as head coach.
Albertts son Marcus is set to graduate from high school this fall.
Marcus Albreitts first game for the team will be against UCLA on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The Rams finished 7-23 last season and were one of the teams to suffer a loss in the Pac-12 tournament.
Albers son will be competing in the Las Vegas Summer Olympics for the United States.
The younger Alberitz also plans to compete in the U.S. Basketball World Cup in 2018.
