Mooreston Flower Shop is opening its first shop in New York City.
The company, founded in 2010 by business owner Amy Johnson, is located in the heart of New Orleans’ vibrant neighborhood of French Quarter.
They opened their first shop on June 1, and the shop is expected to open by the end of August.
The shop is named after the famous flower in the Moores family who was born in 1820 and became a prominent American figure in the early 1900s.
Johnson and her family emigrated to the United States in 1907.
Moores first husband, Louis, died in 1898.
The couple had seven children and four grandchildren.
Johnson also founded a floral store called Sweetie’s.
The couple have had a busy relationship, and it will be interesting to see how the shop will appeal to the neighborhood’s more affluent residents.
